A conversation about life’s ups and downs may not be about suicide but what if it is?
Today, suicide is the most common cause of death in Australia for young people aged 15-24 years. Research tells us that parents, teachers and peers are well placed to support young people struggling with thoughts of suicide.
In this 90 minute training, you will learn how to:
Identify when someone is having thoughts of suicide.
Have the conversation with this person about suicide.
Connect them with existing support services within the community.
The NSW Government has funded this suicide prevention training, meaning it is currently FREE for NSW high school teachers, staff, parents, carers and school communities.
This 90 minute, interactive online program is self-paced, and can be completed on any device. This training is evidence-based and designed by the world-leader in suicide intervention skills training, LivingWorks.
Thank you for taking the first step to learning what to say.
